Balesin’s original Filipino architecture features the best the country has to offer. It is fronted by the best beach on the island, with its long stretch of pristine white sand. The village is near the main clubhouse, the Balesin Spa, and the Aquatic Sports Center, and has as its centerpiece the Balesin Sala. Guests need only take a short walk to have a swim at the main pool, get a massage by the beach, or engage in water activities.
The Balesin Sala
The Balesin Sala sits well back from the beach, and a luxuriant lawn serves as the transition between structure and sand. Its graceful and sharp roofline suggests a Maranaw influence. Outside, adjacent to the Sala is a gnarled and much-photographed tree, with a single lounge chair under its shade. This, as much as the Sala itself, has become an icon of Balesin.
The interior of the Sala consists of a single large room, perfect for private gatherings and celebrations. Karaoke and audio-visual equipment make the room ready for corporate meetings. A bar fronts a small kitchen, and restrooms are discreetly tucked into a corner.
The interior opens out into a generously broad lanai, with light tables and chairs to enjoy the afternoon breeze.
